Boston and Lawrence schools are embracing Unified programming to break down barriers and help students discover strengths they didn’t know they had. Along the way, they're proving that inclusion can transform entire school communities!


A Roxbury Latin student partnered with Special Olympics MA to host an inclusive tennis clinic, breaking barriers and creating access. Athletes gained confidence, volunteers built connections, and everyone left inspired.


Unified Sports united Will, Remy, and Rohan, turning teammates into friends. Their bond grew beyond the court, leading to a surprise Celtics game for Will—an unforgettable experience showing the power of inclusion and friendship.

Meet the 2018 Xtra Mile Boston Marathon Team helping us to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Special Olympics Movement by running 26.2 miles for inclusion!


Matt has been involved with Special Olympics Massachusetts since 1998 when he started participating in basketball after high school. Since then, he has become a multi-sport athlete competing softball, volleyball, soccer, and basketball.


Unified sports takes students from the general population and students from the special education program and joins them together on the same sports team.
