Youth pathways expanded, Unified city schools multiplied, basketball returned, running opportunities grew, and participation surged 121%. Boston showed what’s possible when inclusive sports are built citywide.

From marathon expansion and unforgettable Boston moments, to honoring Healthy Heroes and Diamond-level LETR success, 2025 showcased the power of community and how coming together through inclusion creates lasting impact.


At the 2025 Annual Celebration of Inclusion, held at the Seaport Hotel in Boston, Special Olympics Massachusetts athletes, families, volunteers, partners, and supporters gathered from across the Commonwealth to reflect on an amazing year.

Our son Aaron was a shy, tall, timid and very active boy. In first grade his teacher recommended we sign him up for Special Olympics. What an AMAZING door of experiences and opportunities that opened for Aaron and our family.


Kaylie DeCosmo has a goal to grow Unified programming in Boston Public Schools, and with the help of Special Olympics, she's going to make it a reality.


Special Olympics Massachusetts athlete, Brandon Moore is heading to Seattle, WA along with the 49 other athletes and Unified partners who make up Team Massachusetts.
