Aileen Corrigan trains at 3 AM in Kingston, Jamaica, chasing her dream of becoming a six-star marathon finisher. In April 2025, she’ll run the Boston Marathon, not just for herself, but to support Special Olympics MA.

Macey Auger embarked on the 2024 Boston Marathon with calmness, ready to advocate for inclusion during her 26.2-mile journey. However, her resolve was tested when a sudden knee injury threatened to derail her race at just 5 miles in.

Meet the 2018 Xtra Mile Boston Marathon Team helping us to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Special Olympics Movement by running 26.2 miles for inclusion!
Hundreds of frozen toes will be jumping into the waves on the shoreline of Buzzards Bay – some in costume, some in bathing suits, some fully clothed – at the Tabor Academy Polar Plunge on Sunday, January 22 for the Special Olympics.
Grafton High School implemented all three components of the program – unified sports, youth leadership, and whole school engagement.
