Mario Umana Earns ESPN Honor Roll Recognition
Mario Umana Academy has earned a spot on the ESPN Honor Roll as a National Unified Champion School! From Unified Recess and Basketball to Inclusive Field Day and Fans in the Stands, Umana is fostering a school culture where everyone belongs.

Here’s what some of the students had to say:

·      “I like doing Unified Sports because I get to help people who learn differently than me, and even if we didn't win, it's a learning experience.” – Hector, 7th grade

·      “I like Unified Basketball because we play with nice people and take care of each other if we fall.” – Kevin, 5th grade

Schools Come Together for the 2025 Unified Champion Schools Conference
More than 200 educators, coaches, and principals came together for the 2025 UCS Conference, with Massachusetts Secretary of Education Patrick Tutwiler delivering the keynote. Schools shared best practices, celebrated inclusion, and strengthened their network across the state!

Wachusett Students Created Lifelong Friendships Through Unified Basketball

Unified Sports isn’t just about playing or competing; they are about connecting, leading, and making a difference. At Wachusett Regional High School, Unified partners Rohan and Remy stepped up to ensure their teammate Will experienced something unforgettable: his first-ever Boston Celtics game. They organized the surprise, coordinating with teachers and family to secure tickets and gear. Along the way, they strengthened their own friendships and showed how Unified programs build inclusion and belonging in schools.

Natick High Track Team Celebrated at Fenway
The Natick High Unified track team was honored at Fenway Park for three consecutive Unified Track & Field championship victories. These student-athletes have turned discipline and teamwork into a tradition of excellence, showing how school sports programs can fuel confidence, pride, and lasting achievement.

Middle School Athlete Joey Rosenberg Delivers a Half-Court Moment to Remember
During a staff vs. student Unified basketball game at Wilson Middle School, athlete Joey Rosenberg stunned everyone by sinking the only half-court shot of the day. The crowd went WILD, turning the moment into a school-wide celebration.
